Abstract Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions from vessels is one of the greatest challenges maritime industry currently facing. International Maritime Organization has set goal reducing CO2 emissions international shipping by at least 40% 2030, compared to 2008. regulations are also leading a progressive reduction ships life span, together with decrease in economic value. To cope these challenges, preferred strategy suggested IMO for new -Energy Efficiency Design Index- aims increasing energy efficiency over time stimulating innovation and continuous development technical elements. In this context, ship builders indirectly led develop that will be “changeable” terms propulsion systems time.
